Product Test "Lupinesse" Ice Cream/Produkttest Lupinesse Eis
What? In English and German. :) Even though the ice cream is only available in Germany.

I have not had decent "milk" ice cream in a while. We used to have a small place by our uni campus that sold amazing oat milk based ice cream.... then they closed. :( So we went out to a supermarket that we rarely visit because we had read about Lupinesse ice cream - ice cream based on blue lupin!
Ich habe schon lange kein "Milch"-Eis mehr gegessen. Wir hatten mal einen kleinen Laden um die Ecke von der Uni, bei dem es total großartiges Hafermilcheis gegeben hat... und dann haben sie dicht gemacht. :( Also sind wir mal zu einem Supermarkt gefahren, in dem wir sonst eher selten sind (Real), weil wir von Lupinesse Eis gelesen hatten - Eis, das aus blauer Lupine hergestellt wird.
We only managed to get (the last two packs) of chocolate ice cream. (There's also vanilla-cherry and strawberry.) 250g (440ml, ca. 1 pint) for €2.99 is an okay price to me. It's produced in the EU (Spain), with lupins rather than soy. It doesn't say soy-free on the package, but I did not manage to find any soy on the list of ingredients (even the lecithins are derived from the sunflower).
Wir konnten nur (die letzten zwei Pakete) Schokoeis kaufen. (Es gibt auch Vanille-Kirsche und Erdbeer.) 250g (440ml) für 2,99€ finde ich echt in Ordnung. Das Eis wird in der EU (Spanien) hergestellt, mit Lupinen statt Soja (selbst die Lecithine sind Sonnenblumenlecithine).

The ice cream is pretty, there are small chocolate chips in there. It's creamy! <3
We agreed it's not quite as good as some of the "conventional" ice creams we used to have, but it's pretty damn good considering a) the other options on the market b) the price.

Wir sind uns einig, dass es nicht ganz so gut ist wie manche "konventionellen" Eissorten, die wir früher gegessen haben, aber es ist verdammt gut, wenn man a) sich anguckt, was sonst noch so verfügbar ist und b) was es kostet.
We will have to go to that supermarket again just to get this ice cream. It's available in a number of supermarkets, but none that we frequent. So we'll have to make trips to fill our freezer!
Wir werden wohl wieder zu Real fahren müssen um mehr Eis zu kaufen. Es gibt das Eis in verschiedenen Märkten, aber in keinem, in dem wir wirklich regelmäßig sind. Wir werden also wieder hinfahren müssen um den Tiefkühlschrank aufzufüllen!
